Online Course Structure

Website Course Hierarchy

The online course is structured in sections, lessons, topics, and quizzes. Their hierarchy is as follows:

  • Section 1
    • Lesson 1.1
      • Topic 1.1.1
      • Topic 1.1.2
    • Lesson 1.2
      • Topic 1.2.1
      • etc.
  • Section 2

Lessons will be available after a specified date. One Section of the above structure can be considered one week in Algorithm and Programming. We will have one to two lessons per week, often with several topics each.

When taking the course and selecting a lesson or topic, you will enter a more distraction-free view. To access the forum link, etc., go to the course overview by hovering over your name or icon on the top right of the screen.

Additional Functions

Interactive Notes

On the bottom of this page, there should be a button labeled “Take Notes“. I recommend you to use this to jot down questions or ideas that sum up while studying the online course. Your notes can be saved and recalled later. An overview of the notes is located under the menu item “Account Info”->”My Notes”.

More extensive notes while learning and during class are better done by hand.

Discussion Forum

There is a dedicated discussion forum for this course. The forum is linked from the course’s main page. You can reach it any time by pressing the top left section that spells “Algorithm and Programming”.
